Admission Criteria for the Higher Certificate in Project Management
Standard admission criteria for prospective students who have matriculated with a National Senior Certificate:
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent, including:
Meeting the minimum requirements for admission to a higher certificate programme of study at a higher education institution; and:
- An achievement rating of at least 3 (40–49%) in English home language, or
- An achievement rating of at least 4 (50–59%) in English first additional language.
Standard admission criteria for prospective students who have matriculated with a Senior Certificate:
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) without endorsement.
- Students between the ages of 23 and 44 without a Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate, or equivalent may apply for RPL (Recognition for Prior Learning).
* No credit transfers for modules will apply for RPL. RPL will only apply for access to programmes
Purpose:
The purpose of the programme is to provide students qualifying with a certificate with a broad but complete knowledge of Project Management, as well as business concepts, and to guide students through the entry-level application of these concepts.
The purpose of this qualification is to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities in order to perform project management functions at the foundation level in an organisation.
This qualification affords students the opportunity to develop essential competencies needed to manage projects effectively.
