New Members of the IMM Graduate School Centre of Research
Ms Sinegugu Ntini
Ms Sinegugu Ntini is an experienced academic and industry professional, with a proven track record in Supply Chain Management, Marketing, and Sales. She holds a Master’s in Supply Chain Management from UKZN and is currently a PhD candidate in Business Management at Wits University, focusing on growth strategies for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) in the contexts of marketing and supply chain management.
Ms Ntitni is a passionate educator, currently serving as a Head Lecturer and Programme Coordinator at the IMM Graduate School, where she coordinates programmes in Supply Chain Management and Project Management. She also lectures Transport & Logistics and Operations Management. Her extensive industry experience includes roles at Capitec Bank, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), and IIE Varsity College. At GSK, she significantly improved processes in the trade marketing and value chain departments, reducing returns by 32% and enhancing delivery times.
In addition to her academic roles, she is the co-founder of Relentless Tutoring, an online education enterprise which reflects her commitment to education and empowerment. Ms Ntini’sresearch interests are driven by a deep desire to understand how SMMEs can thrive in today’s dynamic market, with a focus on innovative and effective growth strategies for long-term success and sustainability.

Ms Asheeqah Buccas
Ms Asheeqah Buccas brings over 20 years of expertise in brand strategy and marketing to the IMM Graduate School’s Centre of Research. Specialising in helping SMEs develop strong brand identities and effective marketing strategies, Ms Buccas currently leads projects at Phoenix Brand Studio, covering content creation, social media management, marketing training, and website design.
She holds a Master of Arts in Creative Brand Leadership, focusing on brand identity in the small retail jewellery sector. Additionally, Asheeqah has an Honours degree in Marketing from UNISA and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Business Information Systems from the University of Natal Pietermaritzburg.
Throughout her career, Ms Buccas has held senior marketing roles across industries like automotive, education, and events. At Vega School, she contributed to the brand’s growth and played a key role in guiding sales strategy and recruitment. She also lectured and developed a curriculum for brand and marketing management courses at The Independent Institute of Education.
Asheeqah is passionate about inspiring students and using real-world examples to highlight the importance of branding and marketing. Now at the Centre of Research, she is eager to contribute her strategic insights to advance brand management and marketing strategy, helping students and brands create innovative, sustainable marketing solutions.

New Research Associates at the IMM Graduate School Centre of Research
In addition to our new members, we are excited to announce the appointment of several esteemed Research Associates to our Centre for Research. These appointments are part of a strategic initiative designed to bolster our academic research output and foster a culture of research excellence within the IMM Graduate School.
Dr Abigail Chivandi
Dr Abigail Chivandi is an experienced academic and researcher specialising in Marketing and Business, bringing extensive expertise to the IMM Graduate School Centre for Research. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of the Witwatersrand and has a Master of Commerce in Marketing Strategy and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Business Administration and Management from the Midlands State University (Zimbabwe) and a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Supervision from the Institute of Commercial Management, UK. Dr Chivandi’s research focuses on marketing strategies, business management, service innovation, e-commerce, consumer behaviour, social media innovations and brand management, with a special emphasis on technology and innovation in business success. She has lectured and supervised postgraduate students at Midlands State University in Zimbabwe and the University of the Witwatersrand, contributing significantly to research and real-world business solutions.
With expertise in design thinking, creativity, business strategy, and management, Dr Chivandi is passionate about empowering students and future business leaders. As a Research Associate at the IMM Graduate School Centre for Research, she continues to advance knowledge in marketing and business while mentoring the next generation of industry leaders.

Ms Neeltje du Plessis
Ms Neeltje du Plessis is an experienced lecturer, researcher, and business consultant with over 20 years of expertise in higher education and communication management expertise. Having spent much of her career at the University of Pretoria, Ms Du Plessis has developed a strong foundation in research, communication, and public speaking, making her a valuable asset to the IMM Graduate School Centre for Research.
Ms Du Plessis holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the University of Pretoria. After a distinguished career as a lecturer, she transitioned into semi-retirement in 2022 and now works as an online mentor, part-time lecturer, and business consultant, sharing her expertise with students and organisations.
As a Research Associate at the IMM Graduate School Centre for Research, Ms Du Plessis contributes her extensive knowledge in communication management, research methodologies, and business consultancy. Her passion for finding solutions to business challenges and mentoring young minds further enhances her research contributions.
With her vast academic experience and ongoing consultancy work, she is a respected thought leader, dedicated to advancing communication and research at IMM Graduate School.

Mr Brad Bell
Mr Brad Bell is an accomplished academic and business professional with expertise in higher education, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and public management. Holding a Master’s degree from Stellenbosch University, Mr Bell has a strong foundation in both research and practical business applications, making him a key contributor to the IMM Graduate School Centre for Research.
Mr Bell’s career spans both corporate and academic sectors. He served as a director in a private company from 2002 to 2015, gaining insights into business management and acquisitions. Transitioning into academia, he specialises in Corporate Governance, Business Ethics, and Public Management with a focus on finance.
As a research supervisor and postgraduate advisor, Mr Bell has mentored students, facilitated training, and authored numerous publications. His expertise in business ethics and governance is vital to his role as a Research Associate at IMM Graduate School.
With his broad knowledge of business and education, Mr Bell brings a unique perspective to research, contributing to the development of effective business strategies and enhancing the academic community at IMM Graduate School.
