The IMM Graduate School Strengthens Industry Leadership Through CILT ESG Conference Partnership

The IMM Graduate School continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing professional excellence and industry development through its involvement in the 5th Annual Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport South Africa (CILTSA) ESG Conference, took place on 23 June 2026 at the IMM Graduate School Parktown Campus in Johannesburg.
As the official venue sponsor of this prestigious industry event, the IMM Graduate School is playing a significant role in facilitating critical conversations around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles within the transport, logistics and supply chain sectors.
The partnership reflects a long-standing relationship between the IMM Graduate School and CILTSA, built on a shared commitment to developing the skills and capabilities required to address the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
Addressing the Skills Gap and Building ESG Capabilities
A key focus of this year’s conference is the growing need to close the skills gap and build ESG capabilities that will support sustainable industry growth through 2030 and beyond. As an accredited training provider and recognised leader in business, logistics and supply chain education, the IMM Graduate School is uniquely positioned to contribute to this important agenda.
The conference will provide a platform for industry professionals, academics, policymakers and business leaders to engage in meaningful discussions on sustainability, resilience, governance, innovation and responsible supply chain management.
Adding to the Institution’s contribution to the event is the appointment of Ronald Muringai, a member of the IMM Graduate School faculty, as programme director for the 2026 CILTSA ESG Conference.
His appointment highlights the active role that IMM Graduate School academics continue to play in shaping industry dialogue and promoting thought leadership on issues that are critical to the future of transport and logistics.
Embedding ESG Principles into Operational Frameworks
The conference is expected to bring together leading practitioners and experts from across the sector to explore practical strategies for embedding ESG principles into organisational operations and decision-making processes. These discussions are increasingly important as organisations seek to improve sustainability performance, strengthen governance frameworks and build more resilient supply chains.
Connecting Academic Excellence with Industry Practice
The IMM Graduate School’s involvement in the conference strengthens its broader mission of connecting academic excellence with industry practice. By hosting and supporting initiatives such as the CILTSA ESG Conference, the Institution continues to create opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development and collaboration that contribute to the advancement of South Africa’s transport and supply chain sectors.
The partnership serves as a powerful example of how educational institutions and professional bodies can work together to address industry challenges and prepare future leaders for a rapidly evolving business environment.
